Stage 2: A deep dive into the critical aspects that investors look for in assessing an opportunity, addressing the gaps identified in Stage 1. This is where we use the ‘5M module’, reviewing information obtained at the Stage 1 Audit and working with you to address the gaps. Examples of some areas we focus on include:
How complete is the management team?
How deep is their sector knowledge?
How will the team market and sell their product?
How well can the team demonstrate its understanding of its addressable market clearly in terms of size, trends and gaps? How is this evidenced?
The company's value proposition: how/why it compels potential customers to choose its product or service over a competitors. What strategic partnerships critical to success or competitive advantage are in place?
What is the pre-money valuation based on? How will the company use investor’s funds to increase the value of the business and reach a successful exit? What is the path to monetisation?
What traction does the business have? How is it moving forward to reach pre-defined goals and milestones that create value or mitigate risk?
Stage 3: Ensuring that the company is presented through its documentation and deck in the strongest way possible with respect to the findings from 5M, with the gaps filled or a plan to go forward to do so. Fine tuning and of the Opportunity Note, Investor Presentation, Investment Memorandum and Financial Forecast, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
