Based in England. Julian is our specialist partner in asset finance and working with suppliers offering leasing facilities. He is also an adviser on lease accounting at Leaseurope, the Brussels-based association for the European leasing industry. Previously, Julian was Head of Finance at the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA) where he led research and conferences on the role of leasing in supporting investment into green technology. He has represented the leasing industry in discussions with the Carbon Trust on their energy efficiency financing scheme, DECC on the Green Deal, and the European Investment Bank and British Businesss Bank on schemes to support business investment using leasing. His expertise spans regulation (Financial Reporting Council, Competition Commission), management consulting (PwC, KPMG) and industry (NCR, United Parcel Service). He is a Chartered Management Accountant and has Masters Degrees in management (Boston University) and competition and regulation (University of East Anglia).
Based in Wales. Tony provides strategic commercial management and market facilitation services to SME’s and investors with a speciality for innovative solutions in built environment infrastructure, climate change and energy usage. Tony spent 17 years with GE the last 6½ as General Manager of GE’s Olympic Sponsorship programme and Director of Commercial Operations for Enterprise Infrastructure projects. He has been a Senior Panellist and advisor for the RBS Innovation Gateway and a member of the GLA low carbon vehicle steering committee. Present and past engagements include Solaveil (Daylight building solutions), Regeneras (Tidal Energy and regeneration), Savills (Technology advisor global client team) and GE Corporate (Consultant Energy infrastructure technology for Tokyo 2020).
Based in Scotland. Andrew has spent over a decade in the renewables sector. Previously, Andrew was Head of the Scottish Investment Bank’s £103m Renewable Energy Investment Fund, investing equity and debt into a range of marine, low carbon and community owned renewables projects and Head of Investment at DP Energy, a developer of renewable energy projects world-wide. A qualified Solicitor, he was a Partner at BMK Wilson, acting for high net worth individuals, developers and listed companies and served as Head of Energy Practice Group at Alliuris, an alliance of independent law firms from across Europe.
Based in Scotland. Considered a leading figure in UK green industry, Robert has spent over 25 years in technology development, commercialisation and funding with the last 10 focused on cleantech and venture capital. Prior to founding Greenbackers, Robert was Chief Executive at ecoConnect - a UK-wide, green industry business network, Robert was Founder of The Cleantech Innovate Showcase and has held senior management positions at ABB, Worldcom, GEC-Marconi plc, Netstore plc and McAfee (now Intel Security) commercialising new technology and patents. Robert serves on the Board of Directors at Our Power Community Benefit Society, an Energy Services Company, and at Aether Limited, a Green House Gas (GHG) Consultancy. He also is a Technology Assessor for Innovate UK, a member of PRASEG (The Westminster All Party Parliamentary Renewable and Sustainable Energy Group); The Smart Cities All Party Parliamentary Group and The Institute of Directors.
Based in England. With a 30 year international career with BP, John has held senior level positions in strategy development and R&D and across sales, marketing, and business management. Product commercialisation was a recurrent theme involving process development, testing, specification, scale-up, and supply chain management. Building on this experience he helped to run a Commercialisation Practitioner Course for Technologists. He continues to work as an adviser to BP and also in a number of non-executive positions with start-ups in the sustainability sector. Most recently he has supported start-ups ups within the Innovate UK energy cohort and is a member of the Advisory Committee to Forbury Investment Network, focused on sourcing and diligencing sustainable technologies. He has a BSc in Environmental Chemistry, PhD in Organic Chemistry, both from the University of Edinburgh, and an MBA from the Open University.

Tim successfully delivers commercialisation support, international business development and funding acquisition and is an internationally recognised expert in low carbon energy systems, climate change mitigation and adaptation, cleantech innovation and sustainable food systems. He has extensive experience in marketing, commercialisation, business development, policy advocacy, funding acquisition and relationship building gained in the UK, EU and international environments. Operating at the nexus of science-technology-policy-business-communications, Tim has previously been employed in small and large internationally focused commercial enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions, His activities span industry; business; finance; academia; NGOs; press; media; and international bodies such as the UN; the EU; and national governments in Europe, North America and Asia. Tim has a natural ability to communicate at all levels with a global perspective, clear strategic thinking, deep technical engineering knowledge and analytical rigour.
